The British Pattern 49 battle dress jacket was a standard issue military jacket worn by the British Armed Forces during World War II and the early post-war period. This particular jacket is made of a sturdy wool serge fabric and features a button-up front, two large pockets, and a stand-up collar. The P49 design included improvements over earlier versions of the battle dress, such as better tailoring and reinforcement of stress points for increased durability.
